Security and Browser Requirements

OneAmerica® companies understand that your trust in us depends on how well we protect your personal, business and account information. The Enterprise utilizes industry-accepted security practices, such as firewall usage and encryption. For your protection, we verify you are who you say you are before granting access to your accounts.

What You Should Do to Protect Your Information

  • Never share your login name and password with anyone.
  • Change your password frequently. If you have questions when creating or changing your password, refer to our Password Recommendations
  • Complete the Registration process as quickly as possible.
  • For sites that allow you to choose your User ID, the User ID you create cannot be changed. Assistance in selecting a permanent User ID is provided within the Registration process.
  • Always log off this site before leaving your computer. When using a public PC (such as in a library or school), also close the browser when you are finished.
  • Always log off this secure site before accessing other Web sites.
  • Consider using a personal firewall to prevent hackers from invading your personal computer, especially if you are using DSL or a cable modem to access the Internet.
  • Install virus protection software and scan all downloaded software, as well as all diskettes, before use.
  • Delete e-mails with attachments from unknown sources.
  • Never send confidential information in e-mail.
  • Do not enter confidential information on a Web page that does not contain a security key (Security Key) in the lower right corner of the page.

Security and Browser Requirements

Our secure Web sites are designed to be viewed with and optimized for:

  • A screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher
  • A browser that supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
  • Domestic-grade 128-bit encryption (U.S and Canada only)

Using a browser that supports SSL and a domestic-grade 128-bit encryption is a minimum-security requirement for accessing your account information and is one of the strongest forms of encryption available for commercial use over the Internet. We recommend using Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater.

If you do not have Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater, you may download a free copy below. Follow the detailed instructions provided on the Microsoft Web site. After downloading, you will need to exit your current browser in order to install the new one.

In addition to the aforementioned browser requirements, you will need to ensure that the above settings are enabled on your browser.

Internet Explorer

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0

Users of Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 may encounter problems when trying to log in to our Web sites. Following are suggestions on changing your settings to allow our Web sites to work with Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0:

  • Cookies:
Even if you have cookies enabled, it's possible that Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 could still be ignoring cookies. This is particularly true if you have your Privacy setting at "High" or "Block all Cookies." Then the browser will not use the Web sites’ cookies. If this is the problem, there are two ways to fix it:
    1. The first way is to reset Privacy settings to their defaults. Within Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0, select "Internet Options" from the "Tools." In the Internet Options pane, select the "Privacy" tab. Then click the "Default" button to reset Privacy options to their default, and OK to close the window.
    2. If you want to retain your customized Privacy settings, you can add a specific Web site as an exception. At the bottom of the Privacy tab is an area where you can add Web site names as exceptions. Click "Edit" to open up the "Per Site" dialog box. Here, one just needs to add the site name and click the "Allow" button.
  • Settings: Check for newer versions of stored pages:
    1. Change your settings to check for new versions of stored pages by selecting "Tools," "Internet Options." In the Internet Options pane, select "Settings." Make sure this is set to "Every visit to the page."
  • JavaScript:
Our sites also require JavaScript, and Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 settings can interfere with them.
    1. If you have your Security Settings at "High," JavaScript is disabled. To change, go to "Tools," "Internet Options," "Security Tab," "Custom Level" (at the bottom). Select "Medium" (from dropdown box at the bottom).
    2. If an error box pops up on your screen, try going to "Tools," "Internet Options," "Advanced Tab." Under the Browsing section, uncheck the box that says, "Display a notification about every script error."
